1. Hosting & Operational Independence
This site is hosted and maintained as a public community service by Infosec Solutions LLC. Email addresses and contact data received via this service will not under any circumstances be used by Infosec Solutions LLC for any non-affiliated purpose, marketing campaign, client solicitation, or commercial outreach.
2. Strict Non-Disclosure and No Third-Party Transfer
Under no circumstance is email or contact data transferred, rented, leased, or sold to third parties without the explicit prior consent and approval of the subscriber. We do not engage in data brokering, monetization, affiliate marketing, or commercial behavioral tracking. We do not provide contact information or subscriber lists to outside organizations, event sponsors, or commercial advertisers under any circumstances.
3. Data Collection and Purpose Limitation
We only collect and process personal data that is strictly necessary for the direct operational purposes of the site:
- Email Subscriptions: When you subscribe to our mailing lists, we record your name, email address, subscription choices, client IP address, and verification timestamp to deliver requested newsletters, weekly event digests, or real-time event alerts.
- Calendar Managers & Community Organizers: Calendar managers and community event organizers who publish or manage events on this platform cannot access subscriber names, email addresses, or contact lists under any circumstances. Subscriber data is never shared with or made visible to event coordinators or calendar role assignees.
- Security and Verification: IP addresses and temporary verification tokens are used exclusively to protect subscriber accounts against abuse, verify subscription authenticity, and maintain platform security.
- Administrative and Organizer Accounts: For community leaders administering event feeds, authentication relies on cryptographic FIDO2/WebAuthn passkeys without storing plaintext passwords.
4. Opting Out and Data Deletion
You have full control over your subscription at all times. Every broadcast email we send contains a personalized, one-click link allowing you to manage your mailing list preferences or unsubscribe completely.
When you choose to unsubscribe from all mailing lists, your subscriber record is promptly and permanently deleted from our active subscription database.
5. Email Address Blocking
If you wish to permanently prevent your email address from being subscribed or registered on this platform in the future, you may request an administrative block at any time. Simply send an email to [email protected] and our system will mark your address as blocked, preventing any future signup or verification attempts.
6. Log Retention and Automated Deletion
In accordance with data minimization best practices:
- Delivery & Queue Logs: Outbound email delivery queue records and operational logs are automatically pruned and permanently deleted after 30 days.
- Unconfirmed Signups: Subscription verification requests that are not confirmed within 60 minutes are automatically purged from our database.
- Audit Logs: Administrative audit records are retained on a strict 6-month rotation schedule for system accountability and security forensics, after which they are automatically pruned.
7. Security and Infrastructure Standards
All communications with Charlotte Cyber Events are encrypted in transit using modern Transport Layer Security (TLS). Outbound email transmissions utilize direct-to-MX delivery over opportunistic STARTTLS and are cryptographically authenticated via DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) and Sender Policy Framework (SPF) records.
